UMNO Youth and Keris tradition

Note: Hishamuddin Hussein waving a keris as a symbol of Malay’s strength, but non-Malay like Chinese and Indian miss-interpretation by looking waving a keris as racist act. How if in General MCA Assembly, MCA youth wing leader waving Parang as symbol of Chinese battle cry?

Why PAS as been portrayed as ‘radical Islamic part’ but never use ‘waving keris’? What happen if PAS also use keris as Malay battle cry act? Is there any possibility mass media will spin another PAS story as ‘truly radical Islamic politic party’ act?

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth will continue to use the keris as its symbol at the coming party general assembly and believes that with time the non-Malays will become de-sensitised to it.

Youth chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said there was no need for the movement to be apologetic or defensive about it.

He believed there was “nothing sensitive with carrying on” the tradition started by the movement two years ago.

“I feel it is important we continue to do it so that the issue becomes de-sensitised over time.

“We will explain our position without any fear and with time, God willing, people will understand that there is no personal, sensitive and ulterior motives for doing it,” he told reporters yesterday after chairing the Umno Youth executive council meeting.

Hishammuddin said that he would touch on the keris and explain what it means to Umno Youth and the Barisan Nasional Youth in his policy speech at the party assembly next Tuesday.

Last year, Hishammuddin had unsheathed and kissed the keris at the assembly.

This later caused uneasiness among non-Malays when one or two speakers at that Umno Youth assembly made racially slanted remarks about using the keris.

At yesterday’s press conference, Hishammuddin said that carrying a polystyrene keris, too, could become sensitive if people allowed themselves to be sensitive about it.

“I think Umno Youth is mature enough that when Gerakan Youth carried two plastic keris it doesn’t raise any concern,” he said.

At the recent Gerakan Youth assembly, a delegate had wielded and waved two keris over his head, in an apparent spoof on Hishammuddin. This had tickled delegates at the Gerakan assembly.

Hishammuddin pointed out that two Umno Youth speakers were hauled up before the disciplinary panel last year to explain their remarks, which had been broadcast live.

“Do not take the voices of one or two speakers as gospel truth,” he said, adding that the media had given too much emphasis on the speeches of these speakers and not enough on his and his deputy’s winding-up speeches, which had addressed the issue.

On whether he would ask the Umno Youth speakers to tone down their speeches this time, Hishammuddin said that it was a maturing process for the movement but it also applied to the Youth wings of the other Barisan component parties as well.

“As much as they want us to tone it down, they should also be sensitive to what is close and dear to our hearts as Umno Youth leaders. And this is our forum and we have to address our issues. But that does not mean that we will neglect issues that are close to them also,” he said.

He noted that at the end of the day, there were trust and comfort between the different races and this allowed the people to carry on together.

Adsense / Adwords.

Google Adwords have a bid price to display certain “keyword terms”. Think of Adwords as TV commercials. Webmasters can put Adsense on there websites. Think of Adsense as the TV Program. If a viewer of your webpage clicks on one of your ads, you get a commission. That commission is based upon the price of the Adword. Google keeps about 60% of the bid price and passes about 40% to the webmaster or Adsense account.

The way the Adsense ads are displayed is determined by the Keyword Density of your individual sites. If you site is prominently about “say Dogs” then the Adsense will display ads about Dogs. However, Google in its new business model is now tracking IP numbers and providing more local ads. Think of the local TV commercials. They are not as expensive as the National Ads. Therefore you may have local ads that are displayed on your site that have only a$0.03 payout rather than a $5.00 payout.

If you optimize you site for your theme, or content, then you can generate more traffic to you sites based upon your keywords. The Google Adsense, will display ads relevant to your topics. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of changing your website, so that it is spider friendly. The more links the spider can travel to get to your site the better. Linking to like minded topics is always best. You don’t need to buy LINKS. You can acquire links via posts in forums, writing and submitting articles, using a Blog post, submitting to SEO friendly directories.

To view the spider activity on your site, first go to your traffic stats. Look for the googlebots. See how often they come and the amount of data they have “grabbed”. You can also go to Google itself and if you are indexed view the Cache of your page. That cache date is a good indication of the last true crawl of your site.

To see if you are indexed go to Google and type in the search box, site:www.yourwebsite.com ( make sure the word site is not Capitalized and you replace he words your website with your actual URL). View the results. You should also repeat the process and this time leave out the www. , and just enter the site:yourwebsite.com Sometime webmasters leave out the www., but then look for Google using the www. As the spiders come to your site they will start to grab information, that information is sorted and returns the SERPS. Tan Sri P. Ramlee (22 March 1929–29 May 1973) was a Malaysian film actor, director and songwriter. Due to his contributions in the movie and music industry, as well as in the literary scene, he is often attributed as the icon of Malay entertainment in both Malaysia and Singapore.

Biography

Ramlee was born Teuku Zakaria bin Teuku Nyak Puteh to Teuku Nyak Puteh bin Teuku Karim and Che Mah Hussein at his grandmother’s house (now opened as P. Ramlee House) in Counter Hall (now renamed as Jalan P. Ramlee), Penang, Malaysia. Teuku Zakaria - P Ramlee’s birth name. ‘Teuku’ is a title for descendants of noble families from Aceh of Sumatra, Indonesia. His father Teuku Nyak Puteh was a sailor from Lho’ Seumawe in the province of Aceh, Indonesia.

As a child, he studied in several schools, including the famous Penang Free School. During his school days he was very active in sports, especially sepak takraw, badminton, and football.

He was married three times, the last to the singer Salmah Ismail (or Saloma) in 1961.

Malaysia Angkasawan safely back on Earth

MOSCOW: The Soyuz TMA-10 craft landed safely in Kazakhstan at 6.37pm Malaysian time.

The Soyuz was carrying Angkasawan Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor and Russians - Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and flight engineer Oleg Kotov.

According to AP, the Soyuz craft veered off its designated course while heading for its landing in the steppes of Kazakhstan.

Russian search and rescue teams quickly located the craft, which landed just under 340km west of the designated landing site near Arkalyk, Kazakhstan, Nasa reported on its website.

It said all the three crew members were feeling fine.

The spacecraft’s descent deviated from the intended path apparently due to a computer glitch, and the crew were subjected to higher than normal gravity load on their descent, Russia’s Mission Control spokesman Valery Lyndin said.

Yurchikhin and Kotov were returning home after a six-month stint at the international space station. While Dr Sheikh Muszaphar had been at the orbital outpost since Oct 12.

Malaysian Angkasawan Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor finally reaches down on earth. It will be proud moment for Malaysian especially Malay Malaysian. I think he will be granted ‘datuk’ title in future. It happens if Malaysian do extraordinary think for country.

 We had lunch our own satellite and now Malaysia had send our man in space. I had heard “un-nice” comment in pro-pembangkang website regarding ANGKASAWAN mission. But hey, 1000 miles journey start with 1^st step right?
