257000 Anak Haram Di Malaysia
Anak haram adalah anak yang dilahirkan akibat daripada hubungan seks luar nikah, dimana ianya tidak sah di sisi undang undang. Penggunaan kata haram dimaksudkan sebagai “tidak sah” dari segi hukum agama dan undang-undang. Status anak haram terjadi apabila bayi yang dilahirkan akibat hubungan intim pasangan yang belum bernikah dan akibat jenayah pemerkosaan.
Statistik daripada Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) mengatakan bahawa terdapat lebih 257,000 sijil kelahiran (surat beranak) didaftarkan tanpa catatan nama bapa sejak tahun 2000 hingga 2008. Secara purata, 2,500 kes anak luar nikah direkodkan pada setiap bulan (83.3) kes setiap hari.
