Protect your Adsense ID using “Allowed Sites List”

What happens when some site banned by Google copies your content, along with your Google Adsense codes and displays ads on their site. Google would not be too happy. Now you can identify the URLs that are allowed to display Google ads for your account. Of course if someone is misusing your Adsense publisher ID, then you have to enable the features. In normal circumstances, will you set Allowed sites for your Adsense account?

Once you activate your listed sites, ads will still show on other sites, but impressions and clicks will not be recorded, nor will you earn any money for those clicks.

“A part of traffic coming to this site originates from Google/Yahoo cache (when the main site is inaccessible) and from proxy servers (where the site may be banned). And some social sites / web directories display external content inside frames. With Adsense Whitelist in place, you miss an opportunity to monetize this indirect traffic.”

How do I add sites to my Allowed Sites list?

To add a site or URL to the list of sites that can display your ad code, just follow these steps:

1. Log in to your account at https://www.google.com/adsense.
2. Click the AdSense Setup tab.
3. From the links below the tab, choose Allowed Sites.
4. Select the option to Only allow certain sites to show ads for my account.
5. The resulting page will display the URLs currently included in the Allowed Sites list for your account. If this is the first time you’ve used the list, the text box will be empty.
6. In the box, enter sites or URLs that you’d like to allow to display your AdSense ad code.
7. Click Save Changes to add these sites to your Allowed Sites list.

It will take a few hours for the changes to take effect. Remember, you will not receive earnings if other sites list them, so be sure to keep your list up to date. Determine all your domains that host Adsense ads and list them. If you do not change any settings, by default, they allow any site to show ads for your account.

Your Google AdSense Application been Rejected?

You surf the Internet day and night. You have one website or two. One day, while surfing you saw the Get targeted ads with Google AdSense. You think, “Hey, not bad! I should put one on my website too.” So you go to http://www.google.com/adsense to apply for a new account, filling all the details, and submit. Yes! It’s done, you think. So, you’ll get confirmation letter in 2 or 3 days.

3 days passed. You check your email every other minute, but no mail from AdSense in sight. It’s ok. Maybe it takes a little longer, you think.

One week passed, and you have almost forgotten about the AdSense application thingy. Then suddenly you saw one email in your inbox from Google AdSense. The subject line is “Google AdSense Account Status“. Your hope is revived. Finally, the approve the application, you think.

You open the mail, and your AdSense application is rejected. Oow, you are not alone. There are many other website owners that are rejected when applying for AdSense account. For faster and easier AdSense approval, apply via blogger.com

Of course, if your site is rejected, it doesn’t mean it is poorly developed. There may be other reasons.

See below:

1. Is your site an “About Me” page? Google does not accept these kinds of personal sites because most of them do not have a specific topic. They are usually just random facts about the web site owner. It would be difficult for Google’s technology to display targeted ads on these kinds of pages.

They are looking for sites that contain a generous amount of information on a certain topic. It could be anything from golfing tips to hair care techniques. Just make sure there is an obvious theme with original content.

2. Is your site organized? Be sure your site has a neat and clean navigation that’s easy to follow. Also ensure all the links work and that there are no typos. Keep the colors to a minimum and make sure each page has a consistent layout.
